Day 14: Last day of Vegas

Finally, a few pics have decided to load so here is a small selection from the Grand Canyon and Vegas. Still a few more I'd like to put up but these will do for now.

The Paris Casino from the Bellagio Fountain lake.

Today is our last day in Vegas and with a list as long as our arm of things we wanted to do today we knew we would be pushing it! We set off at a reasonable time and went to look at a few shops at then the outlet shops at the opposite end of the strips from yesterday. We spent quite a while there before Mum and I went to visit a scrapbooking shop. Unfortunately it was a bit disappointing with nothing new we hadn't seen before, with my place of work probably contributing that.

With the hours going fast, we quickly went back to our room. Mum and I got ready to walk down the strip to look at the shops while the boys stayed back and had a rest. Not wanting to waste any time, Mum and I had lots of fun looking at the souvenir shops and a casino or two we hadn't looked in yet. Between this trip and the last we have been in nearly every casino, or at least the main ones! We met up with the boys later on and headed into the Venetian in search of dinner. The Venetian is gorgeous inside and out with a real looking sky lining a canal that does Gondala rides through a part of the casino. We found a lovely little Italian restaurant for dinner and had our best meal yet. The pizza was delicious and the boys raved about it!

After booking tickets earlier in the morning it was next time for what I had been looking forward to all day today... The Cirque du Soleil show Mystere and Treasure Island. I had anticipated that it would be good but just how good I had no idea! Incredible doesn't begin to describe it, with the attention to detail and performances being outstanding and inspiring. I have always loved circus and acrobatics and to finally see a Cirque du Soleil show that I remember was amazing. I absolutely loved it to say the least and cannot wait to see another show one day. Even Dad and Daniel loved it too, especially one performer who gave a humorous rude gesture, all in good fun which Daniel has been honing his skills of all night!

Leaving Vegas last time we didn't really like it but this time I feel totally different. I feel like we have seen Vegas for what it really is aside from the casino part of it. The casinos on the strip are ridiculous and nothing is too far fetched. If you take a moment to look around you, the architecture of the buildings is beautiful. I really did love Vegas this time around and would love to come back one day to experience it all again!

We leave Nevada tomorrow to go back to California, in particular Anaheim which is where Disneyland is. Anaheim will become our home for the next five days while we have a ball at Disneyland and Seaworld in San Diego. We are two weeks into our trip now with one week to go. The days fly by, but overall it feels as if we have been away for a very long time.
